Long ago, spurred by the lack of high-quality jazz drum samples, we recorded a jazz/funk drumset. It’s a relatively small kit–a kick, snare, two toms, and two cymbals–just like something a jazz drummer would play at a gig or low-key recording session.
Skilled jazz drummers can make a single drum or cymbal sound very expressive, evoking a lot of character and personality with each hit. That was our exact approach when sampling this drumset, concentrating on fewer but higher quality kit pieces. The drum library features unique and rare drums, and cymbals and has an excellent tone suitable for jazz and funk.
Currently this free download is available in Kontakt and SFZ format. However, all the WAV samples are included in the download, and are clearly labeled, making a conversion fairly straight-forward.
