Myna Sounds – Toy Box Keys

The Yamaha PS-3, originally marketed as a home/toy keyboard is a remarkable synthesizer from 1980.

Surprisingly, it boasts the same VCF and VCA chips found in the CS01 synthesizer and Electone organs. What sets this synth apart from other home/toy keyboards is that it’s fully analog, which may not be apparent from its exterior alone.

The synth was painstakingly multi-sampled of all of it’s sounds, firstly infusing them with some analog goodness. The samples were then ran through tape, added a touch of saturation, and applied subtle EQ to enhance their depth & richness. Throughout this meticulous process, the unique character of the PS-3 was preserved.

This free sample pack is provided completely free of charge, and it will be part of a much larger collection of multi-sampled toy/home keyboards set to be released in 2024..
